Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take?
The main experience lasts approximately three hours and begins at the the start time printed on your ticket. 48 hours before that start time you will receive an email that contains the starting location and some digital case files to investigate before you arrive in person.
What will I need?
Comfortable Shoes: Players will be required to walk several miles traversing one small San Francisco neighborhood near the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park. Weather-appropriate clothing: Players will be outdoors for approximately half of the time Mobile Phone and App: Players should all arrive with a mobile device that has a reliable carrier signal. Make sure your phone is fully charged and bring an external power charger if possible. You will not have time to charge your phone during the show. Make sure you have installed the Pet Detective app from the iOS or Google Play store and have signed into the app using your ticket confirmation number before you arrive. Amenities: Players will not have time to stop and purchase food, drinks or other amenities once the show begins. Please arrive prepared with whatever you need.
Is there an age limit?
Children under 18 years old need permission from a parent or legal guardian and groups of children need an adult present at all times. But before you go planning that birthday party for little Harper, you may want to think about content.
What about the content?
If Pet Detective were a movie, it'd be rated PG-13 for language and adult themes.
How many people can play at once?
Pet Detective is best experienced as a group of 4 Players working together as a team, but you can play with as few as 1 or as many as 6. Anything outside of that isn't recommended, but if you insist, give me a shout and I'll see what I can do.
Can I play with people I don’t know?
Absolutely. Some of our favorite people are people we haven’t met yet. It’s also fun to play with friends and family.
I’m so sorry I’m running late!
We get it. Traffic, parking and public transport can be unpredictable. Due to the nature of the show we can not start late. Players who have not arrived by show time will be texted the phone number of a team member who has volunteered to help them catch up with the physical location of the group upon arrival. It’s best to text your team mate before calling them as they may not be able to answer a phone call during certain parts of the show
What about parking?
Parking in San Francisco can be challenging. Ride sharing apps like Uber or Lyft are highly recommended. Our show begins and ends near the (N) Line MUNI stop at the corner of Carl & Cole streets. If you're in a car, there's a mix of neighborhood parking, one-hour meters, and various time-restricted spots, but it's awfully competitive at times, so good luck.
